Why is the changelog in the help file never up to date?

To kickoff this ‘DC++ internals’ thingie, I thought I would start with something easy, and something I actually know something about.
The changelog in the help file reflect on the changelog that come with your DC++ package. It has just been made a lot prettier and stylish and a bunch of other similar crap through a CSS-file and a Python-file.
To my knowledge, the Python-file was made by our very own fusbar (fussie!)… Being a Python-freak and all, he made the changelog be automagically generated when you ran the Python-file.
Now, that the changelog in the help file might not always be up to date is because arnetheduck (the maker, our God!) is too lazy to run this little file after he have changed something significant in the ‘real’ changelog. That is, the version number and date. For the script (the Python file) to be successful and include a version, the version number and date of release of the version must be included in changelog.txt, otherwise the script simply ignore the version. It must appear as follow: — <version number> <year>-<month>-<day> —
Now you know why, so don’t bother us with asking that question again!
Oh, well. I guess this ends the first edition of the DC++ internals. Another time, another bashing, another <insert offensive word here>.

  1. Ullner says:

    From the old blog:

“Do all logs self update or just when dc++ is shut down.”
Are you talking about the normal logs (hub messages, private messages etcetera)? They are self updating.

“you should brag about the new autoconfig on installation”
I’ve never done anything such. What are you referring to?

Do all logs self update or just when dc++ is shut down. I have had to use them to prove what someone had sent. [saved me] It would be nice to do a back-up zip of file lists and logs before starting a new one.
I am in 1 hub with arnie….you should brag about the new autoconfig on installation….Thanks all. This is the start of a nice install guide-pdf……….
