Offline users and bots

Pur was today questioning the ‘offline’ nature of some of DC++’s settings. So I thought I’d talk about it here too…

Bots are scripts or similar that is run on the hubside. They may look similar as to a normal user, but they aren’t; they are just another computer program.
DC++ identify the bots by looking at the connection type. If the connection type is blank, DC++ assume the remote user is a bot. Not a foolproof way, but anyway…

You’ve probably seen people go offline, but that’s not enterily what I mean here. An ‘offline’ user mean that they aren’t seen in the user list. These ‘users’ are sent from the hub and are often bots. Believe it or not, the hub can ‘create’ any nick the hub desire…
